Pre-Natal Lactation Consultations

Private Pre-Natal consultations are recommended in order to prepare for
special circumstances. Some of these circumstances may include; a
complicated pregnancy, risk of pre-term delivery, maternal illness, maternal
history of breast reduction, flat or inverted nipples, maternal illness,
multiple births, cesarean births, history of breastfeeding difficulties.

Post -Partum Lactation Consultations

Consultations are provided in the comfort of your own home. Hospital visits
can be arranged under special circumstances. A consult includes:

A detailed history and physical examination of the baby
A detailed maternal history and assessment
Observation of an entire breastfeeding session
Assessment of the problem
A written plan of care
Review of basic breastfeeding information
Review of positioning and latch-on
Instruction on effective breastfeeding techniques
Instruction on avoiding common problems
Anticipatory Guidance
Telephone follow-up

one visit. However, some situations may require follow-up visits.
